Diablo III looks very good, although I agree with the edited screenshots of how DIII should look (from the other thread "Diablo 3 or Guild Wars 2"). The current lighting just isn't dark and evil enough to have the same feel as the previous Diablo games. It's supposed to be really scary and unpleasant in a luring sense, giving you an eerie experience that you can't really get anywhere else. However the way DIII looks now, it seems a bit light-hearted in comparison to the impact D1 and DII made on me when I first saw them. Although all the chaos is great, it needs to look scarier, gore alone does not make the impacting feel of Diablo. As those screenshots suggest, it may just be a lighting tweak that would make it sicker, but then again that may not be their goal since we haven't played it. The direction they may want to take is to make it more enjoyable and fun without being so hardcore.

However we have not seen practically anything about Guild Wars 2, I mean literally just a few storyline tid-bits. To say which game I'd rather have is impossible for me at this point. It would be nice when we finally get a teaser of actual gameplay, a teaser trailer with CGI would be cool but without the gameplay teaser it's not going to be satisfying. Although I have been tortured over DIII to the point I don't really even care at this point near as much as I would have 2-4 years ago. However Blizzard is a smart developer, working diligently for long years on a product that will undoubtedly be pure quality.

If Arenanet can top DIII with their teasers in the next couple months, I would be amazed. It would be tough to out-do a company like Blizzard, who now has all the money in the world, and with their recent merger with Activision, makes me pretty sure DIII will be on the other side of the spectrum from suckage.

Just as Diablo was a fresh experience for me back in the day, Guild Wars was equally good, although I have spent a lot more hours with Guild Wars than Diablo. A lot of us have played it so much (I'm closing in on 2,000 hours) that the game that we played the first 500 hours or so has become *gasp* old. When I play a game for even 50 hours it's a feat I'm still interested at all. GW2 may suprise me a lot, it may be that looks pretty good, or it may be *eh* but we just don't know yet.

I just think all the talk about ''D3 will end all other games'' is a bit over exaggerated, in reality it is just way over-hyped, when it releases I will be like ''Meh''.

To each their own respectively, I just still think that all that talk is non-sense. Guild Wars and D3 are completely different, I think they will both appeal to certain masses respectively, and I bet a lot of people will still buy GW2 even if they do have/play D3.

i agree with brianna, remember the huge fuss over the new GTA? when it was finally released a lot of people were dissapointed just because of the fact the game was soooooo overhyped they just expected more.

And even more people think it's a perfect GTA worth of its ancestors' name.

As for me, D3 will not ,,end all other games'', but it WILL overshadow all rpgs and HnS out there for at least 2-3 years, just like Diablo 2 did. I mean, the first good HnS after Diablo 2 was Dungeon Siege released in 2002 (2nd half, If I'm recall).

Ugh, why does everyone keep comparing D3 to GW2? They are different games imo, and I will probably buy them both (not probably, I WILL buy them both, bank account be damned).

I dont have to choose, why should I?

Well, I think my term ''To end all other games'' was a bit exaggerated itself, but that was just the feeling I am getting from the community on the subject, everyone is belittling other games to D3 so I couldn't help but feel that way.

In regards to GTA IV, I am already bored of it and I only got to play it like 4-5 times

but that may just be me and the weariness that I've grown towards games designed around those types of things, guess it isn't as appealing anymore.
